My first Travel Diary from my two month journey around South America. My first stop was Rio De Janeiro for NYE with my two friends Adam and Christian.

I hope to give you a little insight of the amazing countries and places we visit as well as some of the incredible people we meet along the way.

Things we did in Rio:
We stayed at Aquarela hostel in Leme favela
Watched the fireworks on Copacabana beach on NYE
Walked along Copacabana and Ipanema beaches
We did the Two brothers (Dos Irmaos) hike for the best view of Rio; it’s an alternative to Sugarloaf mountain
Visited the famous steps in Lapa
Did a tour of Rochina favela with Obi (Favela Brothers tour)
Samba party in Lapa (Samba Independente)
Stayed in Selina hostel

Things we did in Paraty:
Satyed in Che Lagarto hostel
Did a waterfall tour with Jango Tours

Things we did in Ilha Grande:
Stayed in MPB hostel
Got the boat to Lopes Mendes beach
Hiked to Crena beach

Top Tips!
Don’t drink tap water or too much ice in drinks
Eat at the per kilo restaurants
Use a bit of Portuguese – the locals appreciate it
Get around with Uber, it’s super cheap
Buy a Flamengo shirt to make friends!
