Dreamer’s Disease is a lifestyle podcast hosted by Alex Manzi. Taking a look into the stories of inspirational guests; finding out what they do, why they do it and their motivations behind what they do. Each episode will provide fresh knowledge and wisdom from people who are doing the things they love, with an aim to draw some inspiration and learnings that we can apply to our own lives.

I created the podcast as part of my own personal journey. A few years back, I was at my lowest ever point, constantly feeling under a dark cloud and not knowing where my life was going. Even though on the outside I had a good job, was running a fairly successful music blog and club night, on the inside I was falling apart.

It took an argument with my then girlfriend for me to open up for the first time. I remember bursting into tears and collapsing on her bed, only able to repeat the words ‘I don’t feel like me anymore’

Since that day I’ve gone on a long and liberating transition period of re-learning everything I thought about myself. Starting from zero and building myself back up brick by brick. Learning to love myself. Learning to be present. Learning to enjoy the moments.

The podcast initially came as an idea to spread inspiration to those who seem lost, I wanted it to be a message that we should all follow our passions, no matter how big or small. But over time it has developed into delving deeper behind each guest, finding out about their struggles, mentality and self care.

My hope is that any listener can take away a small bit of inspiration to begin the journey of bettering themselves.

My mission is to help.

I want to help as many people as I can, I want to inspire as many people as I can, I want to have conversations with as many people as I can.

For me it’s important to understand that your past and previous experiences don’t define you. They are there to help shape you and help you to grow.

The power of change in your life and the journey of greatness is within you.
